Lady Gowrie Qld appoints Elizabeth Death as new Chief Executive Officer
The Board of Directors of Lady Gowrie Queensland Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Death as our new Chief Executive Officer, commencing 18 May, 2026.

Elizabeth is an early childhood teacher whose career spans frontline practice, social policy, multi-site service delivery, academia, government, and stakeholder engagement. Across many years, she has been a committed advocate for high-quality early childhood education and care, actively contributing to policy processes, forums, and committees focused on improving outcomes for children and families.
Elizabeth has held senior leadership roles across early education and care providers, educated future generations of early childhood teachers and educators, and managed services at community, local government, and state and territory levels. Her experience extends across metropolitan, rural, regional, and remote contexts, and she brings strong governance and financial management expertise to her leadership.
She was the CEO of the Early Learning & Care Council of Australia (ELACCA) for nine years and is also the co-author of the highly regarded academic text Programming and Planning in Early Childhood Settings, now in its ninth edition and widely used across Australia.
Elizabeth’s deep understanding of the early childhood sector, combined with her values-driven leadership and commitment to quality, positions her well to lead Lady Gowrie Queensland into its next chapter.
