Landsborough Kindergarten is a community based not-for-profit organisation that is affiliated with Lady Gowrie (QLD). Landsborough Kindy is a single (1) unit kindergarten that offers a three (3) day program every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.00am to 2.00pm.

We are looking for a highly motivated, organised and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to join our kindy family and fulfil a maternity leave contract in 2019.

The successful applicant will undertake the Nominated Supervisor’s role and will be the Responsible Person at this service. Your role will also include Education Leader responsibilities.

Mandatory qualifications

  • Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent Early Childhood qualification
  • Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers
  • Senior First Aid Certificate and CPR (including management of anaphylaxis, management of asthma and automated external defibrillation)
  • Current Blue Suitability Card or Exemption Card
  • Child Protection Training.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Previous experience employed as a teacher/service manager in a kindergarten environment
  • Experience working in an affiliated service alongside a parent management committee
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and document a high quality, play based early childhood program
  • Experience working in an environment that supports children with additional needs is an advantage
  • A current understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early Childhood Education and Care Legislation and the Assessment and Rating Process
  • A thorough understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework.

Further position details
This position is a maternity leave contract starting on approximately XX January 2019 in Term 1 and continuing through to the end of Term 3, with the possibility for extension to the end of Term 4.
This position is a part time role consisting of Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.15am to 3.15pm.

Part-time casual contract for 2019

Inclusion Support Facilitator for two kindy-aged children with additional needs, within a class of 22 children at Gan Gani Community Kindergarten in Fig Tree Pocket. Gan Gani is a single unit kindergarten offering a kindergarten program to two groups of children, 5 days per fortnight. The kindergarten operates from 8.45am to 2.45pm Monday to Friday during school terms.

You will be working 5.5 hours per day, every Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesdays during term time for the duration of 2019.

Duties:
Helping to facilitate the participation of all children, but primarily assisting two children with additional needs to integrate into the environment, in co-operation with the teaching team.
Implementing a planned program, ensuring the needs of individual children and the group are met.
Suggesting to the Teacher any specific resources that may be required to support the educational needs of the child
Working with the Teacher in relation to outside specialists and other support agencies
Documenting observations of children’s behaviour and development
Assisting in providing a safe, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment
Participating in all care and education duties as required with all children at the centre
Developing and maintaining open and collaborative relationships with all families
Working as an effective team member and supporting the Teacher

Requirements:

Current Blue Card
Minimum Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care

Experience in a similar role at another centre
Knowledge of Auslan sign language is desirable but not necessary

Gan Gani Community Kindergarten is seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Administrator to join our team. The purpose of this role is to provide strong administrative support to the Nominated Supervisor, staff and Management Committee.

Duties:

Lunch Relief Assistant (Casual)

We are a community Kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie and have been serving the children and families of Kedron and surrounding areas for 55 years.

We are currently seeking a passionate and energetic individual to undertake our Lunch Relief Assistant (Casual), working for two (2) hours per day on Thursdays and Fridays during kindergarten terms. Our kindergarten terms and holidays are aligned to the Queensland State School calendar.

Over the 2 hour period, you will assist the Teacher or Educator while their staggered lunch breaks are taken, as well as assisting with other centre tasks. We do require the hours to be worked during the middle of the day. However, there is some flexibility with the exact start time, so we will discuss this further during the interview. Additional hours may be offered throughout the year as required.

Our play-based program celebrates childhood by valuing children as competent and capable individuals who come to kindy with unique knowledge and experiences. We place a strong emphasis on nature play and are seeking a candidate who values working with children and becoming an integral part of our Kedron Heights team.

You must hold a Positive Notice Card (Working with Children Card) or Exemption Card and possess or be actively studying towards an approved certificate III level (or higher) education and care qualification. Theodore Early Child Care Centre is a combined Limited Hours Day Care Centre and Lady Gowrie Kindergarten operating on the banks of the Dawson River in the beautiful town of Theodore.

Theodore Early Child Care Centre is a combined Limited Hours Day Care Centre and Lady Gowrie Kindergarten operating on the banks of the Dawson River in the beautiful town of Theodore.

With newly renovated facilities and a large, natural outdoor space with further plans for renovations the Kindergarten operates 2 days/week (Monday and Tuesday, 8.00 am to 4 pm) and caters for up to 20 children. The Limited Hours Day Care operates 3 days/week Wednesday to Friday, 8.00 am to 3 pm). Reporting to the President of the Centre the Kindergarten Teacher/Nominated Supervisor has the overarching responsibility for the delivery and planning of the Kindergarten Program. This role includes teaching/instruction, child supervision, planning and conducting activities, projects and field trips and establishing and enforcing rules, policies and procedures, and being the overarching point of contact for the Centre. Administration includes reporting, lesson planning and preparation, stakeholder engagement and collaboration, meeting attendance, staff timesheets, payment of staff wages, payment of bills, training and ensuring the Centre is compliant with legislation.

Complete training and handover will be provided to ensure you are up to date with the above points and how they are specific to the centre.

About the role
Alderley Kindergarten is seeking a motivated, highly organised and experienced Director/Teacher to take on the role of Centre Director and Nominated Supervisor, with potential for additional teaching hours to support current teaching staff.

The Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor is responsible for the overall management of the service and leadership of the staff team. It is expected that the Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor will manage the day-to-day operation of the service. The Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor will lead the service in building effective partnerships, developing organisational culture and pedagogical and curricular development. This role reports directly to the approved provider and/or committee of management.

The successful applicant will possess the skills to work alongside our Educational Leaders, Educators, Administration Team, Management Committee and, most importantly, our students and their families.

Skills and experience
The remuneration package will be in accordance with the Alderley Kindergarten’s Enterprise Agreement.

Applicants need to hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), current Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers, a positive Notice Blue Card/Exemption Card and current first aid and resuscitation certificates (including certification in emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management).  Additional qualifications/training in the areas of management/office/financial/digital skills would be an advantage.

The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar or leadership role, ideally with a Community Kindergarten. Experience working in and managing an environment that supports additional needs students also an advantage.

Selection Criteria
1. Demonstrated understanding of the EYLF, QKLG and NQF.  Sound knowledge and experience and understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations. Sound knowledge and understanding of early childhood development, philosophy and best practice.
2. Demonstrated capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning practices.
3. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and high level interpersonal skills, including a capacity to develop constructive and respectful relationships with students, parents and other staff.
4. Demonstrated capacity for effective management and leadership of teams. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
