About Us
Landsborough Community Kindergarten operates two kindergarten groups on a 5-day per fortnight program. We are an inclusive community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten, affiliated with Lady Gowrie.

About The Positions

Inclusion Support Assistants

We are seeking applicants to fill potentially two vacancies as Inclusion Support Assistants during 2021, to assist in the delivery of the Queensland Government’s Inclusion Support Scheme.

Applicants for Inclusion Support roles will ideally have:

  • Cert III or Diploma in Children’s Services preferred, or similar (qualification must be recognised by ACECQA) or ‘actively studying towards’
  • Current Paid Blue Card (or willing to obtain one)
  • Up to date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate/s.
  • Prior experience with Inclusion Support, but not essential

Casual Relief Early Childhood Teachers

We are also seeking applicants for casual relief teaching for 2021, with the days and hours to fluctuate based on the needs of the kindergarten. We require applicants who are available at short notice, and available to work most days of the week.

The following Qualifications for Casual Relief Teaching are essential:

  • Approved Early Childhood Teacher qualification (must meet ACECQA and QKFS requirements)
  • Current Queensland College of Teachers Registration
  • Current Suitability Card or Exemption Card for Registered Teachers
  • Current Senior First Aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
  • Current training in Child Protection

Selection Criteria
Each of these positions will require you to provide a quality educational program for the children and families in supporting positive outcomes for each individual child.

The successful candidate will be suitably qualified (as indicated above), and meet the following selection criteria:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated excellence in forming on-going professional relationships with families and stakeholders from the Service Community.
  • Dedication to age appropriate pedagogy and valuing early childhood education with the philosophy of learning through play.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide and document a high quality, play-based early childhood program.
  • A passion for Nature Play.
  • A commitment to best practice and advocacy for children in our community.

Stafford Heights Kindergarten
2021 Diploma Qualified Educator

Stafford Heights Kindergarten (SHK) is seeking a passionate candidate to join our dynamic team as co-ordinator of the Outside Hours Care Program.

As a non-for-profit community organisation affiliated with Lady Gowrie Queensland, SHK holds a significant presence in the Stafford Heights community and has done so for over the past 50 years. SHK reflects this meaningful history with its unique single unit premise, community centric ethos and communal gardens. The contemporary learning expertise of our dedicated team ensures children receive the richest possible learning opportunities.

 

Stafford Heights Kindergarten is looking for an educator who is:

  • knowledgeable about the National Quality Framework
  • familiar with digital technology
  • wanting to work with a team who engage in continuous professional growth

We have a role available for up to 15 hours per week over 3 days.

  • Permanent part time contract positions available
  • Above award hourly rates
  • Work hours range from 1.30pm to 6pm
  • 3 days per week (Monday – Wednesday)
  • Working with 3-5-year old children
  • Reporting to Director / Nominated Supervisor

Qualifications:

  • Maintain and demonstrate current working knowledge and theories relevant to early childhood education
  • Demonstrated understanding of the provision of a safe, engaging, well planned indoor and outdoor learning environment

Relationships with children:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing practical guidance and interaction that ensures quality outcomes for children
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining positive relationships with families that supports each child’s needs

Evidence of experience that shows:

  • Initiative and strong sense of personal responsibility for meeting objectives and managing health and safety risks;
  • Models professional and ethical behaviour;
  • Commits to professional development; and

Montessori Children’s House
Director

The Montessori Children’s House (MCH) was started in 1977 by an enthusiastic group of parents wishing a Montessori centre for their children. It is a Community based Kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie QLD and it is a school member of Montessori Australia.

MCH is an approved Kindergarten Program Provider under the Queensland Kindergarten Funding Scheme (QKFS) and operates under the National Quality Framework.

It is a single unit Kindergarten. Children attend in two multi-age groups (3 – 4½ years) with 22 children in each group. Children attend five days per fortnight 8.30am to 2.30pm.

The Children’s House has under its umbrella the Montessori Infants’ House which is a playgroup based facility for children 0-3 years of age.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Director, to commence April 2021 (or sooner if available).

The role has the option to be either Director and Full time Teacher (37.5 hours per week) or Director and Part time Teacher.

Applicants need to hold a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood), a Diploma in Montessori teaching, a positive Notice Blue Card/Exemption Card and current first aid and resuscitation certificates (including certification in emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management).

 

The Role

The Director/Nominated Supervisor is responsible for the operational administration and day to day management of the Kindergarten;

  • Leading a small team of educators.
  • Demonstrating excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with children, families and staff.
  • Facilitating ongoing development of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and the National Quality Framework (NQF).
  • Reporting to Parent Management Executive Committee.
  • Actively seeking and instigating funding and grant opportunities.

Lawnton Kindergarten & Preschool
Educator – Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant (casual position)

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Inclusion Support Teaching Assistant to join the Lawnton Kindy team in 2021.  The successful candidate will need to be available to work for a minimum of 3 hours each day at the end of the week (Wednesdays, Thursdays & Fridays) during school terms.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be experienced working with children in an early childhood setting.
  • Have experience working with children with additional needs (particularly ASD).
  • Be familiar with the EYLF and NQF.
  • Be able to extend children’s learning, and document learning experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with children, families and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Certificate III Early Childhood Education & Care qualification or equivalent, recognized by ACECQA.
  • Current Blue Card or Exemption.
