Novel Coronavirus Update from Department of Education, Australian Government – 2/02/2020
Further updated advice regarding novel coronavirus, distributed by the Department of Education, Australian Government on Sunday the 2nd of February.
The Australian Government Department of Education and Department of Health published an updated factsheet for early childhood education and care services on managing the risk of the novel coronavirus.
The new medical advice is designed to prevent transmission of Coronavirus in cases where people are asymptomatic. This means that anyone who has (a) had contact with a confirmed case of the virus; or (b) returned from Hubei province (within the last 14 days) should isolate themselves in their homes for 14 days.
The Education Minister has said all state and territory ministers have been given the new advice and will ‘review their policies’ regarding school attendance. The government will advise all child care providers immediately.
