Lady Gowrie Appoints New CEO Louise Jackson
The Chair of the Lady Gowrie Board, Chris Munday announced today that Louise Jackson has been appointed to the role of CEO, effectively immediately.
Louise has been part of the Lady Gowrie team for the past 17 years, with 11 of those in a leadership role and brings over 30 years in the Early Childhood Sector.
“The board are confident that Louise will take Lady Gowrie forward in a very positive way building on the strong foundations established not only by Lady Gowrie 78 years ago, but by previous directors and CEOs,” he said.
“We are fortunate to have such strong talent already in the organisation and believe Louise’s already outstanding commitment to Lady Gowrie in Queensland and her commercial acumen makes her the perfect choice for the role.”
Louise has held a range of roles at Lady Gowrie including Acting CEO, Chief Operating Officer, General Manager of Operations, General Manager of Children Services and Administration Manager.
Lady Gowrie Qld is an organisation steeped in tradition, having been started by Lady Zara Gowrie over 75 years ago. She was the wife of the then Governor General who saw the need for a place that communities throughout Australia could go with their children to be supported in health, care and education.
Louise sees the continuation of strong connections with local communities as a key factor in keeping Lady Gowrie contemporary and continuously growing.
“While I am humbled by the appointment, I have a renewed commitment to maintain the original purpose and integrity of the organisation while ensuring we remain relevant for communities today across Queensland,” she said.
