About the role
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate Early Childhood professional to join the Service and the broader Lady Gowrie Team as Director of the Red Hill Kindergarten, starting in Term 4, 2024. This part-time position requires working 24 hours per week over three days.
As the Director, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality educational program for children and families, supporting positive outcomes for each individual child.
In this role, you will act as the Responsible Person at the Service, managing day-to-day operations in collaboration with the Lady Gowrie Qld Kindergarten support team. Additionally, you will teach children while relieving staff during their programming time. The ideal candidate will possess the qualities needed to lead a team of professionals and foster a collaborative work environment, ensuring the provision of a high-quality education and care program.

The successful applicants will have:
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent (recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification.
- Registration with Queensland College of Teachers preferred or pathway to registration can be discussed with preferred applicant.
- Prior teaching in the early years or prep setting and experience as a Service Manager/ Responsible Person/ Nominated Supervisor/ Senior Leadership Position in an early childhood setting are essential.
- Demonstrated leadership ability including staff performance appraisal and management.
- Ability to plan and implement a quality, educational and child centred program.
- Is passionate and innovated in pedagogy and practice.
- Capability of meeting the needs of individual children and the group.
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, Early Years Learning Framework, and National Quality Framework.
- Hold a current Blue Card/Exemption Card.
- Hold current first aid/CPR including asthma and anaphylaxis.
