Tinana Preschool & Kindergarten Assoc Inc

Tinana Kindy started in the Tinana Hall in 1973.  Parents worked hard to raise funds to get the Kindy to a certain standard whereby they could claim Government assistance. To receive continued Government funding, the parents  were told that they would have to have their own Kindy building.  Land was secured in Walworth Street and the Kindy was established in its current location.  The service received a revamp in 2012.  Over the past 45 years, till the present day, hundreds of families have worked tirelessly to achieve the beautiful Kindergarten facilities we enjoy today.

Tinana Kindy is proudly affiliated with Lady Gowrie Queensland. Lady Gowrie acts as a Central Governing Body for over 90 Community Kindergartens throughout Queensland.  They provide ongoing, comprehensive support to the staff and Management Committee; and distribute State government funding directly to the affiliated kindergartens.

Community is at the heart of Tinana Kindy.  We genuinely believe that it takes a village to raise a child and at Tinana Kindy the children, families, educators and wider community form that village to support every child to thrive.  We are a not-for-profit community organisation managed by a volunteer committee consisting of parents of children who attend the Kindy. Every family that attends Tinana Kindy contributes to its successful operation and as a community we work together to keep the fees one of the lowest in Queensland.
