About the centre
Bulimba Community Kindergarten is located on Oxford Street beside the library and Bulimba State School playgrounds. Bulimba Kindergarten has two units providing quality educational programs to 88 children each week.
At Bulimba Community Kindergarten we respect and value children, families, community, the environment and our staff.
Our staff are an experienced team of dedicated professionals who bring much expertise and creativity to their roles. They are all committed Early Childhood specialists who welcome and enjoy working with children and families. The staff work as a team each offering different ideas and interests to enhance children’s learning at our centre.
The National Quality Framework is a new integrated national approach to the regulation and quality assessment processes for long day care, family day care, outside school hours care, Pre-Prep and kindergarten services. In both 2012 and 2018 we were assessed against the National Quality Standards (NQS) which evaluates services in seven quality areas as well as providing an overall service assessment. We are proud to announce that our service was rated overall at ‘Exceeding National Quality Standard’ on each occasion. For more information on the National Quality Framework visit the Office of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Here at Bulimba Kindy we operate play based programs that cater to each individual child. Our program is designed around child initiated experiences that are developmentally appropriate and are underscored by the philosophy of Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline.
Our buildings and playground are designed to suit the hands-on learning experiences so important for young children. We provide indoor and outdoor environments that stimulate and encourage children to explore and investigate their world and facilitate their learning.
Our Kindergarten welcomes families and understands that teaching young children is about an active partnership between parents and staff. We encourage parent participation in many areas including Management Committees, parents on roster, working bees, parent information evenings and family social occasions. As a community centre actively involved families are vital to our kindergarten. Each year new parents are always encouraged to become actively involved in our kindergarten community. Being involved in a community centre is such a rewarding experience and a chance to become involved in your local community.
We are a Community Not For Profit Kindergarten and the Management Committee sets the fees each year to cover the costs of running the centre. Please refer to our website for our current Statement of Fees.
