Beerwah & District Kindergarten

Our Kindy is a community based, not for profit association providing a nurturing and educational experience for children in the year before they end Prep. It is a place where children and families can learn, grow and unite. We have an excellent reputation for providing for providing high quality early childhood education and care. We are located in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast and have an established history in the local community stretching back over fifty years. In our Kindy, children are valued and respected as competent and capable contributors in the learning process. We work alongside your child to actively encourage and support them.

Our lush green garden setting and beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces are sensory rich and aesthetically pleasing. They invite open ended, spontaneous exploration, discovery and connection with nature. The curriculum offered is a collaborative venture, negotiated with children and developed by fully qualified early childhood professionals. Your child’s curiosity, enthusiasm and love of learning will continually be encouraged by our educators.

In the Kindy program, play, real-life engagements, routines and transitions are the contexts for the interactions and conversations important for learning. Teachers plan with a focus on learning priorities, environments, contexts for individual, small group and the whole group. Planning involves decisions that respond to children’s strengths, interests, ideas and needs. Children play an active role in their learning by:

• Contributing to shared thinking, planning and organising for learning.
• Negotiating ways to follow their interests and ideas.
• Engage in conversations to reflect on what they have learnt.
