All Lady Gowrie centres offer free kindergarten under the Queensland Government’s Free Kindy program.
As part of the Queensland Government’s push for affordable access to quality early childhood education. Every child in their pre-prep year will get 600 hours of free kindy.
Who is eligible for free kindy in Qld?
Any child who attend a government-approved free kindergarten program in a sessional kindergarten or long day care service.
How do you access QLD free kindy in 2025?
Simply enrol your child in a government-approved free kindergarten program. All Lady Gowrie centres are approved to offer free kindergarten under the Qld Free Kindy program.
How much will I save with free kindy?
You can use the Free Kindy calculator by Australia Childcare Alliance and Kidsoft to estimate your family’s out-of-pocket costs. The fortnightly calculator provides a comprehensive view, factoring in your CCS and free kindy hours for the entire fortnight, giving you a clearer picture of your kindy savings.

When should my child start kindy in Queensland?
To attend kindy in 2026, your child was born between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022.
To attend kindy in 2027, your child was born between 1 July 2022 and 30 June 2023.
To attend kindy in 2028, your child was born between 1 July 2023 and 30 June 2024.
To attend kindy in 2029, your child was born between 1 July 2024 and 30 June 2025.
To attend kindy in 2030, your child was born between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026.
