You will be working with a small and highly engaged team who are passionate about nurturing confident, curious learners in a setting that celebrates individuality and connection to nature and culture. As a Nature Play Kindy (with a Nature Play program including nature walks), we have a large natural outdoor learning environment and spacious well-resourced classroom for you to assist making a meaningful impact.
THE OPPORTUNITY!
This is a rare chance to join Twin Towns Kindergarten in the part-time administration role supporting the director and volunteer management committee! The Administrator is a respected position within the Twin Towns Kindergarten community, with responsibility to provide accurate and confidential administrative, secretarial and financial support to staff of the organisation, whilst maintaining a professional and kind manner when interacting with our families.
What you’ll do:
- Support the nominated supervisor/ director and volunteer management committee (VMC) in all required matters of the running of the kindergarten.
- Answering Phones – answer all incoming calls in polite, kind and helpful manner and transfer to appropriate staff.
- Check, open, collate and distribute mail/emails to staff/VMC and set out of office email when closed.
- Create and maintain children’s files enrolment information for children’s programs – includes using Xap – entering enrolments into XAP and ensuring all the paper enrolments have been filled out and signed correctly.
- Maintain centre records required by the association, governments or other agencies, including children’s attendance records, training records and staff records.
- Ensure all paperwork and insurance are up to date and displayed as necessary (e.g., Guild Insurance, Workcover, Statement of Fees)
- Assist in the financial administration of the kindergarten, including preparation of budgets, invoices, End of Months Statements, term acquittals, payment of approved invoices, and associated record management.
- Contacting Tradies regarding any maintenance/repairs. – including annual bookings for safety and health such as pest/vermin inspections and/or eradications and maintain records of these.
- Photocopying and/or laminating resources for teachers.
- Assist in the management and administration of events eg. open days.
- Unpacking and entering into computer inventory list any new resources received.
- Ensure any tasks allocated to you are completed or in progress in a timely manner and communicated appropriately.
- Communicate in a professional manner with staff, families and visitors.
- Abide by the policies of the kindergarten and Lady Gowrie Qld.
- Work as a positive and collaborative team member.
- Support positive and meaningful partnerships with parents in all aspects of the service provision.

THE ESSENTIALS
You will need:
- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) (or ability to obtain prior to commencing the role).
- National Child Safety Training introduced in 2026 (or willingness and ability to obtain before commencing the role).
- Current Driver’s License.
- Ability to undertake service specific mandatory training.
- Australian work rights (permanent work rights preferred).
Key selection criteria:
- Experience in administration will be highly regarded.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and written skills.
- Demonstrated excellence in forming on–going professional relationships with families and community stakeholders.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to child safety.
- Strong managerial, organisational and administrative skills.
- High attention to detail.
- Strong practical knowledge and skills in Microsoft Suite products.
- General knowledge and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of relevant policies and regulations.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the service and professional learning.
- The ability to handle and manage conflict situations productively and kindly.
