Part-time Assistant Educator – Eatons Hill Community Kindergarten
An exciting opportunity is available for a caring, motivated, and enthusiastic Part-time Assistant Educator to join our team at Eatons Hill Community Kindergarten in 2026. This position is 3 days per week (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday), aligned with school term dates.

Eatons Hill Community Kindergarten is a much-loved, community-run and not-for-profit service dedicated to delivering high-quality, child-centred early education. Our philosophy focuses on nurturing each child’s individuality, supporting their natural curiosity, and creating meaningful connections with families and community.
We operate one kindergarten unit offering:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday group – 9:00am to 2:30pm
- Thursday and Friday group – 8:30am to 4:00pm

ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking an Assistant Educator who is passionate about early childhood education, committed to best practice, and eager to work as part of a supportive and collaborative team.
The successful candidate will:
- Support a high-quality, child-led kindergarten program for children aged 3–5 years, guided by the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Hold a minimum Certificate III in Children’s Services (or equivalent NQF-approved qualification suitable for Approved Kindergarten Program Provider Assistant Educator recognition).
- Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, the teaching team, committee members, and the wider community.
- Demonstrate clear and professional communication skills, including contributing to children’s learning stories and updates via Kindy Portal.
- Use technology confidently or be willing to learn with support and training.
- Work closely with the Teacher, following directions, collaborating effectively, and contributing positively to the day-to-day rhythm of the kindergarten.
- Maintain safe work practices, manage tasks independently, and meet daily operational timelines.
- Participate in special events within the community, with occasional requirements outside regular work hours.
HOURS OF WORK:
- Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday – 8:00am to 3:30pm
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & DOCUMENTATION:
- Certificate III in Children’s Services (or equivalent approved qualification)
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check – QLD)
- Current Senior First Aid, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Child Protection, Fire, and WHS training
- Willingness to undergo a police check if required
- Experience in a similar role within Lady Gowrie, C&K, or other high-quality kindergartens (preferred)
