Leadership and Advocacy

Lady Gowrie in Queensland through their membership of Gowrie Australia informs the COAG agenda for early childhood reforms through its membership on the National Stakeholder Reference Group facilitated by the federal Department for Education, Employment and Workforce Relations.

The Gowrie seeks to strengthen our existing partnerships within the Queensland community and facilitate new collaborations with all levels of government in Queensland. Currently, The Gowrie is a member and proactive contributor of the Department on Education, Training and Employment and is strongly involved with the following activities:

  • Early Childhood Development Forum (comprising key stakeholders to address issues regarding early childhood programs, health, and childrens transition to school)
  • Legislation and National Implementation Reform Committee (guiding Queenslands implementation of the new NQF).

With our beginnings in Queensland as a demonstration centre for early childhood education programs, its only natural Lady Gowrie continues to share over 75 years of expertise in working with children and families through facilitating

  • Professional Development opportunities
  • Strong links with Tertiary education providers of Early Childhood Education courses such as QUT, Australian Catholic University and Griffith University, Queensland University, TAFE and James Cook University.
