Nominated Supervisor / Educational Leader – Twin Towns Kindergarten
Twin Towns Kindergarten is a non-profit community kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie QLD. Based in beautiful Coolangatta, operational since 1961, we pride ourselves on being a vibrant, community-based service where everyone feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn through play.
You will be supported by a small and highly engaged team who are passionate about nurturing confident, curious learners in a setting that celebrates individuality and connection to nature and culture. As a Nature Play Kindy (with a Nature Play program including nature walks), we have a large natural outdoor learning environment and spacious well-resourced classroom for you to make a meaningful impact.
THE OPPORTUNITY:
This is a rare chance to join Twin Towns Kindergarten in one of two opportunities. Either as a part-time Nominated Supervisor/ECT (Director) OR as a part-time Educational Leader/ECT.
What you’ll do:
Both positions include:
- Leadership and Management: fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across the team. Managing operations, rosters and budgets in partnership with admin support and the committee.
- Continuous Quality Improvement: with the team and learning program. Drive growth and learning, facilitating professional development, enhancing children’s engagement through promoting inclusive practices and enriching nature play.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance, aligning daily practices with legislative requirements and Lady Gowrie Qld policies.
Additional Key Responsibilities for the Nominated Supervisor/ECT role include:
- Financial Management and Service Administration: including enrolments, government funding, accountability reports
- WHS: in conjunction with the Committee

THE ESSENTIALS:
You will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA as an early childhood teaching qualification
- Registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (desirable)
- Blue Card (paid or exemption) and current Senior First Aid including Asthma and Anaphylaxis training
- Child protection certificate
- Australian work rights (permanent work rights preferred)
- Nature Play Qualifications and/or experiences, and enthusiasm to upskill
Key selection criteria:
- Demonstrated leadership skills: mentoring teams, collaboration and supporting active team participation in planning activities
- Demonstrated excellence in forming on–going professional relationships with families and community stakeholders
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework, Early Childhood and Care Legislation and the Assessment and Rating process
- Experience in implementing and delivering a high quality, play based Kindergarten program including knowledge of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement in all aspects of the service and professional learning
- Commitment in supporting the kindergarten’s Indigenous perspectives
