Kindergarten Teacher

Ashgrove Memorial Kindergarten is a not for profit community kindergarten (affiliated with Lady Gowrie Qld). Our children learn and play in our large natural outdoor classroom and in our richly resourced air conditioned classrooms. The service is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for children.

The Teacher position will be part time, 40 hours per fortnight, at the end of the week. Working Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday.  Commencing in Term 2.

The Role

The Kindergarten Teacher position, we are looking for someone who is a self-starter, and has creative vision and who has previous experience.

As the Kindergarten Teacher, you will have the ability to document and assess children’s learning behaviour and development. Model and support the room educators to utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.

Key Criteria

  • Sound Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline and the National Quality Framework and legislation is essential.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
  • Ability to self-managed and meet timelines.
  • Demonstration of initiative and innovation.
  • Commitment to quality outputs and competent in information technology.
  • General knowledge and/or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of relevant legislations.
  • Professional presentation and attire.

Essential Qualification

  • Minimum four year qualification in Early Childhood Education
  • Registration with College of Teacher’s Registration
  • Senior first aid certificate, including resuscitation certificate, anaphylaxis and asthma
  • Current Working with Children Card
  • Four year qualification in Early Childhood Education.
  • Current child protection training.

This Direction applies to Ashgrove Memorial Kindergarten.
