Kindergarten Teacher Assistant
The Educator position:
- Permanent Part-time position: 18 hours per week (during school term)
- Hours of work: 7:45 – 4:45 (includes non-contact/set-up time)
- Thursday and Friday
- Paid school holidays
- Pay rate dependent upon experience and qualifications in line with our EBA

KPPK operates during QLD school terms and runs both Kindergarten and Pre-kindy groups at both ends of the week.
KPPK is looking for a talented Educator, who will assist our experienced and long-standing Teacher in our Kindergarten Room (Red Group) which runs Thursday and Friday from 8:12 am to 4:00 pm during school term. We are looking for someone who is passionate and motivated about working alongside children in the early years and contributes to a team that values open communication and sees children as competent and capable learners. Our possible candidate must possess a strong sense to valuing the importance of community and strong relationships with families.
Purpose of Role
The Educator is a respected position within the kindergarten service, with responsibility to provide stimulating, caring and supportive environment for children to promote program goals.
Key duties include:
- Assisting the Teacher in the provision of high-quality care for the children
- Providing a stimulating, secure, caring, and safe environment for the children
- Assisting the Teacher by preparing and maintaining equipment and materials, and the environment as required
- Working as a team member
- Supporting the Teacher, Nominated Supervisor & Educational Leader by providing any feedback, information and issues of concern which will contribute to the improvement of the program.
- Supporting meaningful parent participation in all aspects of the service provision.
The successful applicants will have:
- A Certificate 3 or Diploma of Early Childhood Education or actively working towards qualification.
- Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Hold a current Blue Card
- Hold (or willing to obtain) First Aid/CPR including Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Proof of Vaccination for Covid-19
- Experience building and maintaining strong relationships and partnerships with children, families and colleagues.
