Early Childhood Teacher – Staverton Kindergarten
About the position
A rare and exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and highly motivated Early Childhood Teacher to work within Staverton Kindergarten (Thursday, Friday and alt Wednesdays) commencing in January 2026.
We are a warm, community-focused Kindergarten committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for young children. Our dedicated team values creativity, curiosity, and emotional development, and works together to support each child’s unique learning journey. We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join our team and contribute to the growth and wellbeing of our learners.
The Teacher at Staverton Community Kindergarten holds a key leadership role, responsible for planning and delivering a high-quality educational program.
About us
Staverton Community Kindergarten is a two-unit community kindergarten with 88 enrolments. Each kindy program has 22 children in the group with qualified Early Childhood Teachers and Educators in each group.
Children attend a 5 day fortnight (8.30-2.30) with the option of after kindy care (2.30-5.30pm)

We provide a rich array of learning experiences and materials that are open ended and conducive to learning for the children of all abilities. We are a not-for-profit organisation and are affiliated with Lady Gowrie Qld.
Key Criteria
- Base the program on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG)
- Build strong, trusting relationships between children, families, and staff
- Maintain a cohesive and professional team environment
- Encourage meaningful family participation across all aspects of the service
- Provide a flexible, relevant, and responsive program that meets community needs
- Actively promote the kindergarten within the local and broader community
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education or equivalent with ACECQA approval
- Current Queensland Teachers Registration
- A valid Working with Children Check and First Aid Certificate
- All required certifications must be current at the time of application
- Current Child Protection Training
- Current Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training
- Australian work authorisation is required for this position
- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role
- The required 2 years experience must be in a teaching role within early childhood education
