Diploma Qualified Educator / Kindergarten Assistant – Bracken Ridge
Location: Bracken Ridge, QLD
Employment Type: Permanent Part-Time – 2 days per week (37.5 hours per fortnight) (during school terms)
Bracken Ridge Kindergarten is a community-based, not-for-profit service with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality early childhood education. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Diploma Qualified Educator to join our team two days per week to assist the Teacher in providing an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment for children.
About the Role
As the Kindergarten Assistant, you will work collaboratively with the Teacher and Service Manager to support the daily operation of our program and contribute to a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Teacher in planning, implementing, and evaluating the kindergarten program in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG).
- Support children’s learning, wellbeing, and development through meaningful interactions and intentional teaching strategies.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organised learning environment indoors and outdoors.
- Foster positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- Support inclusion and diversity within the program.
- Assist with daily routines such as meal times, rest periods, and transitions.
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and reflection on practice.
- Uphold the policies, philosophy, and values of Bracken Ridge Kindergarten and Lady Gowrie QLD.
About You:
- Hold a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent, ACECQA approved).
- Have a sound understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and QKLG.
- Be reliable, nurturing, and proactive in supporting both the teaching team and the children.
- Possess a current Blue Card (Working with Children Check), First Aid/CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis certificates.
- Demonstrate excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
