Co-Director (Nominated Supervisor) and/or Teacher position
Start Term 1, 2025 – Ashgrove Memorial Kindergarten
A unique opportunity has become available at our ‘Excellent’ rated Community Kindergarten for a Co-Director (Nominated Supervisor)/Teacher to join our amazing team starting on 13th January 2025, or for two applicants in the separate roles across the week. We are a double unit centre, operating four 5-day fortnight groups. The teaching position is for one of our ends of the week groups (children contact 8.15am-2.15pm).
These positions are paid in accordance with the Kindergarten’s Enterprise Agreement 2024
About the Role/s
1. Permanent full time Co-Director (Nominated Supervisor)/Teacher position. You will work a 5-day fortnight, teaching alternate Wednesdays, Thursday and Friday, with the other 5 days a fortnight for non-contact work.
OR
2. Permanent part-time non-contact Co-Director (Nominated Supervisor), working 3 days/week
OR
3. Permanent part-time Teaching role (5 days/fortnight)
In this role/s you will be working alongside a long standing and experienced team of teachers and educators who are passionate about early childhood education. You will work closely with the Educational Leader (currently also the Nominated Supervisor), Management Committee and the Administrator who will support you in your role.
Key Criteria
For this position we are looking for individual/s who are passionate about the Early Years and providing the best possible outcomes for children. The successful candidate/s will:
- be able to demonstrate their experience in leadership and be well-versed in their understanding and application of the NQF, EYLF V2.0 and the QKLG. You will be determined to work at an exceptional standard that reflects our commitment to very high-quality education.
- demonstrate experience in leading a team (Co-Director) and working collaboratively with an Educational Leader, Teachers, Educators, Administration, Support staff and our Management Committee.
- Be passionate about developing and fostering positive relationships with parents/carers and guardians, community networks, schools, health professionals and other organisations.
- be passionate about play-based learning and demonstrate an ability to provide high-quality, authentic and stimulating learning programs and environments that enhance children’s learning and development. You will have a strong understanding of the EYLF V2.0 and the QKLG and demonstrate the application of these in planning, documentation and assessment of children’s learning and development.
- be committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practices.
- have high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
You will have
- Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or equivalent (ACECQA approved)
- Queensland College of Teacher Registration or be eligible for Teacher Registration in Queensland
- Experience in leadership at a Kindergarten (Co-Director)
- Recognised First Aid, CPR and Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification
- Blue Card or Exemption Card
- Child Protection Training or willingness to undertake training prior to commencement
